Dipl.-Ing. Bernhard Kadner
Bernhard Kadner joined Hübscher & Partner in 2017 as an Austrian patent attorney trainee. He has been a European Patent Attorney since 2021, and in 2024, he was also admitted as an Austrian patent attorney and as a representative before the EUIPO. He advises clients on a wide range of patent, trademark, and design matters, as well as in IP monitoring. He will further strengthen the firm as a partner and managing director in 2025.
Through his studies in plastics engineering at JKU Linz, he developed an interdisciplinary mindset that enables him to analyze and address complex technical and scientific issues in a holistic context. This education laid the foundation for his later career as a patent attorney, as the broad curriculum of plastics engineering provided him with extensive knowledge in various technical disciplines, such as process engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, materials science, and polymer chemistry. He was able to further expand and deepen this knowledge in the course of his professional practice, together with additional knowledge gained in the field of sports and medical technology, as well as food technology.
In addition to his technical expertise, Bernhard Kadner has a strong passion for both the precise and creative use of language—an interest that has fascinated him since childhood. This passion was also evident during his high school years, when he chose Latin as one of his final examination subjects. His talent for language played a significant role in his decision to pursue a career as a patent attorney—a profession that allows him to combine technical expertise with linguistic precision. The family man likes to recharge his batteries by going on bike rides, hiking or playing the guitar.
